The Airport Authority makes available the State of Florida’s Community Redevelopment incentives program to businesses locating on the Airport and Commerce Park. In 1996 the Sebring Airport & Commerce Park property was designated a Florida Community Redevelopment Area giving the Airport Authority and its Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) the ability to provide financing assistance and other incentives to businesses leasing land and building facilities on the Airport & Commerce Park property. Financing assistance is available in a number of areas that can make a significant difference to a company’s bottom-line if they locate on the Sebring Airport and Commerce Park. These incentives can include offsetting or deferring lease payments through the use of the Airport CRA’s Tax Increment Trust Fund and loans to assist in financing site improvements, parking lot construction and special infrastructure needs.
In 1997 two Airport tenants, LESCO, Inc. and Hancor, Inc. were assisted by the CRA in the financing of their improvements on the Airport and Commerce Park property. The Sebring Regional Airport & Commerce Park is one of only two general aviation facility and Commerce Parks in Florida offering these incentives. The Executive Director of the Sebring Airport Authority serves as the point of contact for the community redevelopment financing incentive programs.
