Electric Go-Karts Light Up Sebring Raceway

port st lucie high school winning race

Sebring recently welcomed a wave of innovation and youthful energy as students from St. Lucie County showcased their custom-built electric go-karts at Sebring International Raceway. Part of a STEM initiative led by Indian River State College, the event brought together high school students to test and display their engineering skills in a real-world racing environment.

The hands-on program combines science, technology, engineering, and math education with practical automotive experience. Students designed and assembled their electric vehicles over the course of the school year, then had the chance to test them on the same iconic track used for world-class endurance racing.

Sebring is proud to support events that highlight education, technology, and workforce development. Hosting these future innovators at our local track underscores the region’s growing connection between transportation, education, and community collaboration. Read more here
