Electricity

Electricity is provided by Duke Energy, the second largest investor-owned electric utility in Florida, serving more than 1.6 million customers in 35 counties. The company has 64 generating units capable of producing more than 9,000 megawatts of power. The diverse fuel mix includes 51% natural gas, 31% coal, 14% nuclear, 2.4% renewables and less than 1% oil. Ample reserve capacity is available to meet the needs of new business and industry.

The Sebring Regional Airport & Commerce Park is served with a 12.47/7.2 KV distribution line. This represents 3-phase/1-phase notation.  A 69 KV transmission line feeds the Sebring East Substation, which feeds the airport / industrial park via the distribution line. Standard service is single phase, 3 wire or three phase, 4 wire. Standard voltages are 120/240, 120/208, and 277/480. No franchise fee or utility taxes are collected from tenants in the Commerce Park.

Duke Energy assists firms in maximizing operational efficiency. The utility conducts regular reviews of all commercial and industrial accounts to ensure that each customer is on the best rate for their demand and usage characteristics. Power quality assistance is also provided to commercial and industrial customers.

Water

Water service is provided by the City of Sebring from two water supply sources. The first water source is from the water plant located at the airport and consists of three (3) deep wells and a new 200,000 gallon ground storage tank.  The second water source is provided by a recently constructed 12 inch water main that serves as a redundant water source to the Airport from Sebring’s Desoto City Water Plant. All of the City’s five (5) water plants are interconnected through a “loop” system and equipped with telemetry that allows water plant operators to monitor each plant’s operational efficiencies 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week (24/7) plus back-up emergency power generation to ensure service reliability. The City has sufficient water capacity to accommodate future growth within its service area including the Sebring Regional Airport & Commercial Park. The City of Sebring’s water department staff is made up of seasoned employees with vast operational experience, dedicated to providing service excellence.

Sewer

Sewer service is provided by the City of Sebring.  The City operates and maintains the onsite wastewater treatment and collections facility located at the Sebring Regional Airport.  Since the City assumed operational duties of the sanitary sewer system, several system enhancements such as telemetry for all five (5) lift stations and improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plant have been implemented.  All of the system enhancements are designed to ensure system integrity and reliability.  The Wastewater Treatment Plant has a capacity of 90,000 gallons and has sufficient capacity for future growth.  It is the City’s long term plan to interconnect the Airport collections system to the City’s central wastewater treatment plant.  The interconnection will provide a much greater capacity for future growth.  The City of Sebring’s wastewater treatment and collections staff is made up of seasoned employees with vast operational experience, dedicated to providing service excellence.
