Highlands County Tourism Report Highlights Marketing Results and Future Opportunities

News

Highlands County’s latest tourism report offers a look at the marketing, events and planning efforts helping build awareness of our region.

The Tourist Development Council’s FY26 fourth-quarter report covers July through September 2026, with selected measures summarizing the full fiscal year. Highlights include:

  • 110,702 website sessions and 6,424 outbound link clicks during the fourth quarter, both up year over year.
  • 114 earned media placements and an estimated 13.1 million views across FY26.
  • 16 sports tourism events** during FY26, with 40 prospective events in active discussions for 2027 and beyond.
  • A $50,000 state grant for strategic planning services.

The report also highlights the inaugural Garden Week, which brought together nearly 50 community partners, along with ongoing discussions about sports facilities, hospitality training and destination development.

For Sebring Regional Airport, these regional efforts are relevant to the broader picture of connectivity and economic opportunity. Building awareness of Highlands County’s attractions, events and communities helps introduce more people to the place we call home.
