Blue Air Training Takes Flight at Sebring Airport, Eyes Expansion
New commercial tenant brings specialized military aviation training operations and a growing aircraft fleet to SEF.
Sebring Regional Airport (SEF) has welcomed an exciting addition to its aviation community. Blue Air Training Corp., a provider of specialized military aviation training services, began operations at SEF on September 28, 2026, establishing a new base to support Close Air Support training missions at the nearby Avon Park Air Force Range.
The company’s arrival represents another milestone in SEF’s continued development as a destination for diverse aviation operations, from general aviation and business aircraft to specialized commercial and military-support activities.
A Growing Fleet at Sebring
Blue Air Training’s initial operations at SEF include two A-90 Raiders, a Pilatus PC-9, and a Bell 206 utility helicopter. Two additional OV-10D Broncos are expected to join the fleet, bringing the planned total to six aircraft.
The company specializes in realistic, mission-focused Close Air Support training for U.S. military personnel. Blue Air recently announced its selection for the CAF CAS AFSOC CCAS III contract, continuing its work supporting the training needs of Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM).
Why Sebring?
Blue Air’s decision to establish operations at SEF reflects the airport’s growing appeal to specialized aviation businesses.
Among the factors influencing the company’s selection were available commercial hangar space, well-developed airport amenities, on-site dining, full-service and self-service jet fuel, proximity to local hotels, and convenient access to the Avon Park Air Force Range.
Together, these advantages position Sebring Regional Airport as an attractive operating base for aviation businesses requiring both infrastructure and accessibility.
Already Looking Ahead
Blue Air Training is already exploring opportunities to expand its footprint at SEF, having expressed interest in occupying a second commercial hangar.
While those plans remain preliminary, the company’s early interest in additional space underscores the potential for continued growth.
The addition of Blue Air Training further strengthens Sebring Regional Airport’s role as a regional aviation hub, supporting a broad range of commercial, general aviation, and specialized flight operations.
As SEF continues to develop its facilities and attract new tenants, companies like Blue Air Training demonstrate the value of investing in infrastructure, services, and an environment where aviation businesses can thrive.
