Deputy Director Attends 52nd Annual Bensen Days Gyroplane Fly-In
Deputy Director Andrew Bennett recently attended the 52nd Annual Bensen Days Gyroplane Fly-In in Wauchula, Florida—one of the longest-running aviation gatherings of its kind.
Bensen Days is a four-day event that brings together gyroplane builders, pilots, and enthusiasts from across the country. Widely recognized as one of the oldest continuously operating fly-ins in the world, the event celebrates the innovation, accessibility, and community that define grassroots aviation.
“Bensen Days represents the spirit of grassroots aviation and the passion that keeps unique segments of flight thriving,” said Bennett. “It was a pleasure to attend this year’s event and see firsthand the enthusiasm of the gyroplane community, as well as the dedication of the organizers, pilots, and supporters who continue to make this event such a meaningful part of aviation culture.”
The fly-in honors the legacy of Igor Bensen, whose gyrocopter designs helped inspire generations of experimental aviators. The event features a relaxed, community-centered atmosphere built around gyroplane flying, camping, vendors, and demonstration flights.
Sebring Regional Airport remains proud to support and engage with the broader aviation community, from traditional operations to experimental and recreational flight.
