Florida’s Proposed “Aerial Highway Network”
Florida is looking beyond testing eVTOL aircraft to the infrastructure needed to support them.
A proposed statewide “Aerial Highway Network” could establish approximately 32 locations across Florida capable of supporting electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. These sites could provide charging, takeoff and landing infrastructure at airports and other strategically located properties.
While the proposal still requires federal approval, it’s another indication that Advanced Air Mobility is moving from concept toward real-world transportation planning—and that airports could play an important role in what comes next.
